The everyday reality
Sound like your last build?
It looked like every booth.
You spent the budget on a custom build, but visitors walked past without a glance. Nothing about the design pulled them in or made them stop to photograph it.
Design and build split.
The designer handed a PDF to the contractor. Something got lost in translation. The final result looked off from the render, and nobody owned the gap.
Five WhatsApp groups.
Venue, contractor, signage, lighting, AV. Each one missed a detail the others assumed. You were firefighting at midnight before the doors opened.
Costs kept climbing.
Change orders, late add-ons, scope creep. The original quote stopped meaning anything two weeks in.
The change
What changes with ism x
01
People stop, look, and share it
The architecture becomes the content. Visitors pause, take out their phone, and tag your brand without being asked.
02
Foot traffic stops, enters, stays
Your space pulls people off the street. The interior walks them through your offer. By the time they leave, they know what you do.
03
One brief, one studio, one team
Architecture and build run as one pipeline. No designer-to-contractor handoff. No design lost in translation.
What gets photographed
Spaces that get shared
Same audience, same venue, same square footage, often the same line-item budget. What makes one space the most-shared shot of the festival and the other a slot people walk past? The brief, the design discipline, and who is accountable for the build.

The math
Why generic builds fail
Contractor's in-house designer
Design serves the build
- Design loses to construction reality
- Generic finishes from the contractor catalog
- Brand guidelines treated as a suggestion
- You realise the gap on opening night
- Nobody owns the design outcome
Agency plus freelance designer
Two studios, one project
- Brief gets translated twice
- Renders sign off, fabrication drifts
- Coordination falls on you
- Trades work to different drawings
- Costs creep through the handoff
ism x studio
One brief, one studio, one team
- Design drives the build, not the other way around
- Custom architectural elements per project
- Brand guidelines locked before any material
- You sign off the renders before fabrication
- One accountable team from brief to opening night
No commitment, and we reply within one working day.

About ism x
One studio, concept to completion.
ism x is a Dubai design and build studio led by Souraya Daouk Al-Shukairy. We treat architecture and interiors as a single system, not parallel services. Even temporary spaces fail when structure and experience are designed separately.
We work across festivals, retail, F&B, music, sport, and art installations. Our work has shipped at MOTN and BRED for the last five years, with 150+ structures designed and built end to end. The studio runs every project from brief to opening night.
Credentials
- MOTN festival lead designer, 5 years running
- BRED festival since inception
- 150+ structures delivered
- Brand briefs to install in one studio

You walk away from the brief call with a transparent scope and a written estimate. You sign off the design before any material is ordered. We never hand you a problem without a solution.
Common questions
How much does a project cost?
Pricing depends on scope. After the brief call you receive a transparent written estimate, broken down by phase. We do not quote ranges without seeing the brief, because the brief is what shapes the price.
How long does it take from brief to install?
A single festival booth typically runs 4 to 8 weeks brief to install. A multi-zone festival runs 12 to 16 weeks. A retail or F&B fit-out varies by scope. We confirm the timeline in the brief response.
Can you work to our brand guidelines?
Yes. The brief intake captures every brand asset. We render against your guidelines and you sign off before any material is ordered. The final build matches the renders.
Can you coordinate with the venue, agency, trades, and talent?
Yes. We run the project from brief to opening night. Venue liaison, brand alignment, trade coordination, install, runners on the night. All under one studio.
Do you only design, or do you build too?
Both. We treat architecture and interiors as a single system. The studio that draws your space is the same studio that builds it. Same team, same accountability.
What sectors do you work across?
Festivals, retail, F&B, music and live performance, sport, art installations, and mixed-use venues. The approach holds whether the brief is a single booth or an entire festival site.
What happens after I submit the form?
You receive an email confirmation within 1 working day and we follow up to schedule a 30-minute brief call. No high-pressure sales, no surprise visits.
Ready for your next space?
An ism x designer walks your venue, captures your brief, and sends a scoped proposal within 5 working days. No commitment.
